Re: peugeot 407 Can BUS Fault

Chris, Try recording the CANBus again and make sure you ground both channels of the scope. May I suggest the following scope setting 5ms/div 2G sample per second (Max it Out) Channel (A) CAN Hi 5volts DC coupled Channel (B) CAN Lo 5volts DC coupled What you recorded before looks like random noise. ...

Re: Cylinder contribution

I don't have mine with me here. Not at work until Tuesday. But it looks like this. This is just a crude drawing but you will get the idea. abs wheel.jpg I got an Engineer to Lathe down a Plastic block so that the Ring could be tightly pressed onto it and glued. Next he pressed and glued a small beari...

[ quote]I'm contected at the DLC via a breckout box. I was looking for 60omhs on my meter between Can H and Can L but all I have is an open thats what lead me onto my scope test.[/quote] You will not always see Powertrain or Convenience CAN network at the DLC. It looks as though the BSI is the Netwo...

Re: Hello From Hungary

I worked earlier with Hantek , but this entirely other level Well said !!! If Pico did not exist, I speak only for me now, I KNOW that I would have MIS Diagnosed or NOT Diagnosed faults correctly the first time (which is the same). The Pico is also very good when fixing gas boilers too,in the winte...

Re: Cylinder contribution

I would be curious if there was the ability to see true cylinder contribution of a running engine. Measuring acceleration of crank? As is done with misfire detection. It can be done very well and there are threads in this forum showing that. The tiny little downside is the missing tooth on the phas...

Re: Pico Diagnostics

Maybe its kept stationary as the strongest and the others are referenced to it. Pico has to guess at a benchmark because of the very little info it asks for in that test. Pico Diagnostics tests are really not worthwhile in comparison to using a scope as a scope. You are Missing out on so much raw da...

Re: peugeot 407 Can BUS Fault

As you say that is all wrong. Voltages are wrong, Can H & L are both dormant at 2.5v, you have just a few mVolts there. And they are not mirrored either. What is wrong with this car? What are the symptoms? If you are just playing/practising with your new scope then the measurement technique may be s...

Re: MAF airflow sensors

What car are you working on ? A wiring diagram will tell you what each wire does on the MAF. A & B could refer to engines that have a V configuration and 2 Air Masses. In other words is it referring to the signal out of range or the 5v reference out of range? Could be either or both. You have to wor...

Re: 2 x 4 Software.

Everyone that has a four channel would likely buy another as two could be used separately on different vehicles or combined in the less common circumstance when you really need 8 channels. So much more versatile. Is it really that Pico haven't got this right? Or is it the case that over time cars a...
