Re: Suddenly control signals become crazy

I would concur with both the questions and answers given. I would be looking really hard at the hall sensor(rpm), and grounds. Based on the waveform given I don't see how you've taken the hall sensor assembly out of the equation. It looks to me like the ecu is responding to defects in the signal gen...

Re: 4423 using 3rd and 4th channels.

I know it has been a while since I started this post. I just hadn't ever figured out what was going on until now. If anything I had gotten even more frustrated while using the scope. I decided to try another computer. My boss had bought me, a new Dell with USB 3.0 to run some BMW software I had. I i...

Re: Diagnostics using Pressure Transducers

Steve, Thank you for your reply. After going back and rereading my own post I want to make it clear that I believe the WPS500 to be truly useful tool. I was truly amazed by the information that could be quickly and easily sampled. I wish we had them when I was in automotive school. I believe there i...

Diagnostics using Pressure Transducers

Hello Everyone, I've been working in the auto industry longer than I care to think about, and I'm the one doing all the diagnostics in our shop. I've been following the use of Pressure transducers to help diagnose since it came on the scene. I must say that I've been rather skeptical, and have yet t...

Re: '02 Toyota Highlander and P340 Cam Code

Nice result and shows how a scope can show you what is really going on! Not having a go at you but why when you had a scope didn't you scope cam and crank supply, signal and ground signals before you changed the sensors as this may have prevented the new parts being fitted as they were not needed? T...

Re: 4423 using 3rd and 4th channels.

Currently running Picoscope 6.7.40.3 It was updated in the middle of all my fun yesterday. I was hoping that might help but did not. I'm running an IBM t60 with Core Duo T2400 running 1.83 two times. 3 Gigs of memory. 129 gigs free hard-drive space. Going back to my T43 did not help. I am following ...

Re: 4423 using 3rd and 4th channels.

No ground loops. All grounds tied together and connected at the battery. I will try connecting only one. I've also tried not hooking any of them up when using all channels as differential.

What do you think of the USB hub idea? Before I go adding that into the mix.

4423 using 3rd and 4th channels.

I've been really giving my scope a lot of work lately. I've been trying hard to not get to frustrated. It seems that it is shutting off frequently while in use. I have to unplug it and then plug it back in to get it working again. I noticed yesterday that the more channels I am trying to use the fas...

'02 Toyota Highlander and P340 Cam Code

Had a fun one today. An '02 2WD Toyota Highlander with a 2AZ-FE 2.7l 4 cylinder, with an automatic was giving us some trouble with diagnosis. This vehicle came in with a blown head gasket. And I mean blown. I'd never seen one where it was blown so well gases were coming out the side of the block whe...

Re: 4423 scope and a/c power to my laptop?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm now feeling much better. I'm not alone. I'll be using my older T43 from now on which I have an adapter to hook straight to a car battery. I'll put a battery on my cart, and hopefully be seeing a nice clean signal from now on.
