Re: Crash course in unit conversions please!

Every amps clamp I have ever used or seen has the conversion printed on the side. As every amps clamp I have used gives a voltage reading out of the amps clamp leads. So when you attach it to scope/multimeter you can work out what the amperage is you are measuring.

Re: Grande Punto 1.3 multijet

Are you measuring the signal at the ECU? If so have you tried the pin fitment test between ECU and wiring harness multiplug. I find a screen wash jet unblocking tool works well. Just gently drag it in and out of the female terminal and compare the slight resistance felt to the other terminals (Defin...

Re: P1166 fuel deviation is this a rare EMI case? PLEASE HEL

Thank You very much for your input. I have since used 1 input on scope having amps clamp on the fuel pressure regulator circuit. Another input monitoring 12V supply to regulator Another input monitoring PWM ground to regulator Another amps clamp monitoring cyl 1 injector current. Unfortunately I am ...

Re: P1166 fuel deviation is this a rare EMI case? PLEASE HEL

Still fighting this one. I can however confirm that what you are seeing on the waveform that I have uploaded is not EMI nor is it high resistance causing a voltage drop. I can confirm with no doubt that the control side of the fuel pressure regulator is partially being grounded (when it is not suppo...

Re: Audi A4 2.0 TDI Rough idle

With the WPS 500 you can definitely check valve opening time in relation to crankshaft degrees. You can compare this to every other cylinder if you dont have a spec to go buy. This will tell you if any of the components that operate the valve are worn/defective

Re: Stange Hall effect engine speed sensor signal?

It is nice to get a second opinion. If you think it is an ECU and are not willing to make a £1500 mistake you can send it in to them for a simple test fee and it may fail. Confirming your suspicion. But I do agree that it is not a guarantee and I have had faulty repairs from them. But they have alwa...

Re: Stange Hall effect engine speed sensor signal?

If all powers and grounds at ECU are present and the cam and crank signals/sync are good at the module when the fault occurs and there is no pin fitment issue. You could make sure it has the correct spark plugs and coil fitted as in rare cases it is possible that the "noise" created from incorrect s...

Re: Opel Insignia 2009 A28NET Waveform

Do a relative compression test with an amps clamp. If timing is off on a V6 you Will see one bank with higher/lower compression compared to the other bank.

WELL!!! It looks like i spoke to soon. The customer has driven all this time with no fault. Then returned with the same symptoms and fault code. If anybody has any suggestions they will be greatly appreciated.
