Re: cam and crank sync with vvt

If you disable the dephaser / vanos (or whatever your preferred terminology is) control solenoid, then the cam or cams will assume a default position, from which it should be possible to take a capture & compare it to a known good one, from a motor that has also been placed in default mode. Trying t...

Re: Volt drop testing using scopes

Please keep things friendly, we don't want a Monday morning clean up of this thread again. Thank you. Hi Martyn You certainly won't see anything inflammatory from me. My "Huh?" comment was made purely because, after reading technicians post a few times, I could not understand what he was trying to ...

Re: Volt drop testing using scopes

It may surprise you Dave that in most garages with targets that in my experience "Dealerships" and "Small Garages" that grabbing the scanner and reading fault codes to use as a diagnostic is the norm, even Snap On with their many CPD courses I have attended have said the same, Huh? Sorry Tech, that...

Re: P1191 Opel Vectra Z22YH engine

Hi Bjorn File size limits can be frustrating, but there are things that you can do to help your cause. Pico Kev has just made the point on another recent post, where he shows how you can reduce the saved file size, by simply selecting the single "current" waveform, rather than all of the buffered sc...

Re: P1191 Opel Vectra Z22YH engine

Hi Bjorn

Let me know if you need any assistance hosting the Pico psdata files (if they are too large for the forum). I can host them on my website server space & provide you with the download links.

:)

Hi Bjorn

Perhaps it is just easiest to share what you have got & allow us to dissect it. You are likely to get some useful feedback on the efforts that you have made.

Cheers

Re: Math channel

Back to the maths channel issue though, there really is enough information available, if you have the inclination to look & have a mess about. For instance, if you look at the link that Liteace included, there is a psdata file that is available to download. This psdata file includes the relevant "RP...

Re: Volvo XC90 - D5244T4

Hi STC Have you provided the actual fault code yet? (sorry if I have missed it) I am troubled by the 400 millibar (5.8 psi) at full load & zero at idle, something doesn't add up there, which possibly explains your problem. When you say that this has had a new genuine sensor recently, can you be sure...

Re: Volt drop testing using scopes

It is a little difficult to understand quite how this thread has unfolded, as there appears to be a degree of "tidying up" done by admin. I don't wish to discredit the status of a Master Tech, but I can quite easily believe that a certified MT might hold the opinion about the limitations of volt dro...
