Re: NVH and Bluetooth ELM327

So far I've not been able to get a wireless version of these tools to work. I've tried wireless and Bluetooth. The NVH tool appears to look for a port connection, USB or Serial Interface.

Re: 2018 Roadshow, scope owners not invited!! Really??

This post sounds like it's more about the availability of training than who's allowed to go to roadshows. Roadshows are always going to be about flogging product, that's why it's called a show. For the guys who are commenting about the lack of training. Do you want training on how to use the product...

Re: Dual mass flywheel

The NVH Tool will idenfity a vibration that is the same frequency or some multiple of that frequency and it will display the magnitude of that vibration. It's up to you to work out the source of the vibration. The NVH Tool cannot inherently tell you what component is the cuase. If the magnitude is l...

Re: Opel Astra H 2010 Z18XER VVT problems

I'm going to express some sympathy for the Opel dealer here, I work in a dealership myself and have come across similar scenarios numerous times and now when we hear this sort of complaint from customers alarm bells are just going off all over the shop. More than once we've been burned by cheap elec...

Re: Wheel bearing failure

Hi Steve, Thanks for that info. Every little bit of knowledge is Gold. I'll take two things away from this that I can use. 1. I've had a couple of cases where a vibration was only present under WOT from take off and the vibration only lasted 1-1.5 seconds. Moving the slider all the way to the respon...

Re: Compression K9K-702 1.5DCI

I just located a formula which includes specific heat ratio, therefore; pTDC = 1 bar x 10.3^1.4 = 26.2 That looks like a formula from a wikipedia page "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_ratio" where the 10.3 is the compression ratio, so I think your specific formula should be (1 bar * (18.3...

Re: Data-Logging Gas Waves in an Engine at 8,000 RPM

I don't believe there's an 8 channel scope, so it seems that your limit is going to be 4 inputs. The Pico Scope can handle your required sample rate a thousand times over, what I tought would be your issue would be the response time of your sensors, if the response time of all of your sensors are 0....

Re: Wheel bearing failure

It makes my head spin watching that animation and thinking about the different frequencies that can arise from the wheel bearing and when those different frequencies are going to interact with each other. Is there any advantage in playing with the slider in the FFT Tab of the advanced options? I onl...
