I agree with you Kim, these are figures based on our theories and it would be good to define a typical BLDC pump speed at idle. Does VCDS incorporate a pump speed value for verification? I haven't seen anything regarding fuel pump speed in VCDS - it would be so nice to have this feature - just to h...
I'm just a little unsure if "Martin's Method" can be used on this type of brushless motor. This motor uses 120° Square-Wave Commutation and not sinusoidal (sine-wave) commutation as I believe was used in Ben's case.
Just to round off the problems I've had with the fuel pump in the Skoda. I ended up changing the fuel pump, as it has driven 227,000 km and there had been a few times when the car had gone into emergency mode - so it was time for a new pump. Regarding the previously mentioned DTCs which I could not ...
Steve - I think you are right about my "measurement error". Somehow I must have enabled my zoom feature without being aware of this. I have made some new measurements of the fuel pressure before the fuel filter and they now show the correct pressure during the "Fuel pump actuator test" and start up ...
According to the information I have from the Erwin Technical service system, there are two ways to test the low pressure system in a 1.6 TDI engine - namely before and after the fuel filter. A regular fuel pressure gauge (VAS 6551) is placed in series with the filter and the fuel pump is activated b...
Hi Steve - Muttnjeff - Krabkakes I have found some training material from BMW which deals with a description of their SCR 2 system - which looks very promising in relation to the interpretation PWM signal. Whether there are any differences between the two systems - I do not know, but I do not think ...
Hi Steve Have you seen this TSB (SI B01 14 18) from BMW where the same DTC appears in the Ecu - as you experienced in your BMW. Here they are talking about replacing the EGR valve with the following spare part number (PN 11 71 7 810 871) on the warranty. I know your BMW Model X4 is not covered in th...
Hi Ben I came across this tutorial document from Audi entitled "Audi 3.0-liter V6 TDI With Clean Diesel System - 941803", where there is a description of their exhaust gas after-treatment system and operation. What got my attention was the description of how the reducing agent pump V437 works regard...
Hi liviu2004 That's a typo on my part - it's of course 10000 microFarad. The charging system itself consists of a generator, a rectifier and a capacitor, able to accumulate energy for a short time and keep voltage as constant as possible. Without this capacitor you will not be able to start t...
