Re: Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

Having a little trouble getting Picolog up and running on the Raspberry PI. Got it running on my Imac today. Yesterday it would not sample more than 1 sample. That kind of defeated the whole reason for setting this up. I only changed the sample rate from 1 per second to 500ms, and suddenly it starte...

Re: Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

1st I want to report with confidence that I returned the vehicle to the customer today. The vehicle sat at our shop for the course of a week with a new battery in it. No sign of a loss in battery charge over that time. I have the old battery still on my bench. Charged last Friday to 12.43 Volts and ...

Re: Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

This one is elusive. I did all the normal testing. Charged the battery fully. tested with both of our captive battery testers earlier in the week. I truly believe in running the headlights as suggested , watching what it does to Open Circuit Voltage. No sign of issue. Starts fine. None of the normal...

Re: Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

If you suspect battery, charge it and disconnect from auto. Check 2 days later. That is just too simple! I've got that battery fully charged again, and sitting on the bench for the weekend. Question - How valid is this test without a fixed parasitic draw? I'm thinking I should put a .030 Amp draw o...

Re: Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

Sorry! I know what you mean. I honestly bought it for the data logging only. I have plenty of really good DVOMs. Youtube had lots of videos but very little on the data logging feature. You have to do some wadding....Sorry again! But, I didn't want to spend the $300 on the data logging meter I wanted...

Screenshot of the new meter at work. I was able via bluetooth to download the saved memory and map it.

Yet Another Parasitic Draw Case

Not sure why but suddenly I'm getting one after another of these vehicles. Recently, got a 2002 Lexus RX300 with a battery that would die after a couple days. I looked at it, and no sign of a drain. Parasitic @ .04 amps. Nominal. Battery OCV @ 12.45 volts. I had just finished putting a slow charge o...

Re: Parasitic Draw and a modified 1965 Chevrolet Impala

On day 2 of this testing. I made a roster of the individual drain points and realized 2 of them didn't need to be power at all time. re-wired those devices. I still have an average drain of 55ma but no chatter. Basically a straight horizontal line. The drain is very consistent with one single blip t...

Parasitic Draw and a modified 1965 Chevrolet Impala

I am currently working on a car that will kill the battery of this car in little over a week. I really tried to display a picture of the draw with my Picoscope. I just can't do it with any of the low current amp clamps I have in conjunction with my Pico 4423. I even had them rewired with no coiling ...
