Re: Want to start playing with PicoScope

Oh I almost forgot - without an automotive scope, you'd be missing out on access to the waveform database as well. :) Here's another post with a reply from one of the Pico staff members with good information about the comparison between the automotive scope and non-automotive scopes.

Re: Want to start playing with PicoScope

Hi, The 2200 series scopes are NOT automotive scopes, and therefore will not work with the automotive software. I originally purchased a 2405A a few years ago, not realizing this, and found out the hard way that it wasn't suitable for automotive. I eventually purchased an automotive scope, a 4425, a...

Re: math channel (ground-controlled duty cycle)

    Thanks Roman,

the "duty(-A)" works great, and is far simpler. I'll use that for now on.

    Thanks!

    noise

Hello, I'm scratching my head on what seems to be a peculiar behavior I'm seeing on my scope screen. A couple weeks ago, I was doing an alternator ripple test on a '98 Ford Mustang, and I noticed some noise in the signal, spikes which seemed periodic. Curious, I connected my TA018 (20/60 A current c...

    math channel (ground-controlled duty cycle)

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or running into a bug. The default duty-cycle math channel, for example, duty(A) , seems to measure high voltage as on-time, as opposed to low voltage as on-time. No problem, I tell myself. I'll simply flip it myself by subtracting the duty cycle from 1...

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Well last week I posted the results of my test drive after the purchase and delivery of the mongoose pro ISO2 OBD2 adapter, as well as an additional NVH unit. Now that I'm able to see tire-order vibrations, a more complete picture comes into focus. I noticed what appeared to be a T3 vibration showin...

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Steve, Success!! (I think). I think I have an idea of what might going on now, however, I'm going to keep my theory to myself for now as I'm interested in your interpretation and don't want to sway your opinion. So... It occurred to me, that I would not be able to use the RPM squarewave/tach whilst ...

    Re: 4425 Delphi injector readings

Hi - a little off topic, but there was discussion about a 30V ground differential limit. I'm trying to understand this better, if the 4425 has independent grounds, why is there a concern? Also there was mention of floating your grounds. Is this a specific setting somewhere? I thought floating ground...

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Okay that was a lot of info. I think you've just about dispelled my restricted exhaust theory, you have also sparked some memories about the vehicle history which may be relavent. But first, let me answer your questions: Could you confirm if the original catalyst had broken up? When I had the cataly...

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Hi Steve, thanks for all the information and insight. You have given me a LOT to go over. Once I get a chance to go over this, I'll replay with the requested information. I took the car on a test drive today, and it really wasn't cooperating much with the noise, which is a little unusual; so I will ...
