Re: PicoScope 7 Automotive Software

My tablet only comes with the onscreen keyboard, so I'm happy to have a bigger onscreen stop button. The invert has been available as a math channel, but to my knowledge, not directly as a channel option as it appears in picoscope 7.

Have a great day!

Re: PicoScope 7 Automotive Software

Hello, I would like to express my appreciation for making the Picoscope 7 automotive more touch-screen friendly. I don't work out of a cart like many people do; I mostly use a rugged touch-screen windows tablet. I would guess that many mobile diagnosticians use touch-screens, and the larger buttons ...

Re: noise

Thanks Steve. The initial reason for my post was that I didn't quite understand why the ignition spikes seen on the battery voltage seemed to be AMPLIFIED, simply by connecting the current probe on the second channel.

I was just curious, as it seems like that shouldn't happen.

Thanks,
Curt

Re: Exhaust vibration??

Thanks Technician, I hooked everything up today, with both sensors in the engine bay, and took a test drive. It seems crazy, but whether the microphone is in the cabin, or the engine compartment, the rattle noise is no where near as distinctive as it is "live, in person". I did two captures. In the ...

Re: Exhaust vibration??

Technician, I did notice that the "donut" gasket between the pipe and front manifold looked a little "worn"; I will order a new one and get that replaced. As far as the NVH capture, I did exactly that on Jan 22nd, and it is available for download here:

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Technician, just saw your post. When I had the front exhaust manifold replaced a couple years ago, the exhaust silencer/muffler, WAS rattling against the floor-pan of the car. It was really noticeable and obnoxious. That noise was fixed by putting a screw into the floor-pan to pull it out of the way...

    Re: Exhaust vibration??

Well it has been quite a while since my last post regarding the mysterious vibration noise on the Honda Civic. I replaced the CV-shafts with new ones, and the vibration noise was still there. The oil pump has been leaking from an o-ring that sits between the pump and the engine block, so I figured w...

    Re: noise

Those are some good ideas, Martin. I'm not sure if I'll get to look at this car again or not. It belongs to my friend's son, who will be moving away soon. I've been trying to fix all the car's problems for him (it has had many) as this is his first car, and he doesn't have his driver's license (yet)...

    Re: noise

Thanks for your replies everyone. The 4425 picoscope, USB cable, and blue test lead is hanging are all hanging from the "S"-hook at the front edge of the hood, so the cables are going straight down, and not actually resting on the engine, although that might not be apparent from the pictures. The am...

    Re: Picoscope for Puppy Linux

You might try "sudo apt-get install -f". This should try and fix broken dependencies. Then try re-running "sudo apt-get install picoscope" From the apt-get man page ("man apt-get"): -f, --fix-broken Fix; attempt to correct a system with broken dependencies in place. This option, when used with insta...
