Re: Astra rough idle

Hi all

It's weird the scanner didn't show any DTC related to MAF values before the fix.

So it is good to point out how Pico really helps to pinpoint glitches when the PCM criteria doesn't meet the conditions to set trouble codes. :D

Kind regards

Re: DIY First Look Senx Sensor

It may not be pretty but is extremely sensitive. FF Hi, is not important how they look like, my DIY FLS doesn't look pretty good, but you know, as someone once upon a time said. Looks like chicks at home  : Not pretty faces, but do the trick :D Here you are another waveform sample: Clipboard0...

Re: Starter solenoid noise, VW Golf Mk.6

... and following starter motor switch-off there is a decaying voltage for approximately 1second before complete shut-off to 0v. So I'm definitely going to try the new starter relay, plus measures around this, before condemning anything else. If this "decaying voltage" pattern is typical of VW's, t...

Re: Skoda octavia intake leak and cam/crank correlation

... i was expecting to see the cam switch from 0v to 5v but im seeing battery voltage. any input is great, thanks. Hi I am not surprised at all with cam output voltage, try to think outside the box  If the voltage battery feed source is 5 volts you get 5, so if it gets 12 volts then why not t...

Re: 1997 Plymouth Breeze SOHC Stall/ no start P0351

At the top, there is an odd dogleg that I have never seen. Hi redclift38 I haven't ever seen this dogleg at the top before, looks like a coil internal winding in short and the coil driver struggling to cope with such a high current values. Check specs for this particular coil and we'll see. Maybe 7...

Re: compression test

Hi

On this one I cannot see any issue as all the humps look uniform, so why don't you try with a exhaust cold crank test with FLS?

This test is very helpful with this issues

Re: Waste spark wave form question

Hi everybody When I compare both nose for cylinder three and four this is what I think:  Oscillations in the number three shows a larger amount of energy that hasn't been consumed thoroughly by the firing event, so this suggests me that there is a slight lack of fuel in this cylinder. I would ...

Re: Forum Areas

Just to add to the above post. I dont know if there are guidelines how to ask or present a diagnostic problem in this forum. If not, then I think there should be minimum of information/data available for the members to make a qualified decision of what do with the diagnostic problem. From time to t...

Hi FF:

Thanks for posting your insights

This is the guy I was talking about, My DIY FLS close up:
Easy to build and fast response enough to keep an eye on the subtle changes from the tail pipe

And this is a waveform sample from the tail pipe:
The red trace as you know is the channel B and represents the exhaust waveform, AC coupling.<br />Channel A is starter motor current
