Re: Maths Channel Question - Dwell

Your last capture, on page 1 I can see something that resembles coil primary current, on the second page, higher rpm that looks more like an inductive WSS, certainly not a coil primary I have ever seen. That's either a bad amp clamp or bad set up ? that will explain your calculations being duff ! A...

Re: Maths Channel Question - Dwell

Hi Kim Thanks for your considered input and highlighting Steve's most relevant article, which has been a while since I've read, so was a useful refresh. As you say the 3,000RPM page really is not being compliant, and I'm not sure that some of the spikes or dips are readily apparent from the source d...

Re: Pico amp clamp

I have the AEMC K110 as well, and looking at the pictures and spec of the Chauvin Arnoux K2 would say that it is just a rebadged version of the K110. Even the adjustment screw for Zero is identical !! In terms of responsiveness, the Steve Smith article mentioned before https://www.picoauto.com/libra...

Re: Alternator waveform ripple and noise

HI liviu2004 ! Great to see your analysis, and explanation of the overlaid signal(s) (often misunderstood and called noise or interference!), so well done for identifying the source ... and of course it might indicate a poor engine earth strap or inductive pickup from close routing of cables or chaf...

Re: Maths Channel Question - Dwell

Thanks STC, you got 1 step further than me ... I made a fundamental error, a bit like building complex formulae in Excel, I worked with the Maths Channels to "build" my formulae  so maybe there is a bug or unintended limitation within the Maths Functions ... :!: By this I mean I first perfecte...

Maths Channel Question - Dwell

Hi all Having done a bit of searching of online and old presentations/application notes I have saved away, I seem to be unable to figure out how to get a duty cycle/Dwell calculation to perform  While I don't have a Snap-on device, someone recalled with Snap-on "scope/scanner" being able to di...

Re: Feature Request - Capture Scope Model

Hi Mike. Using 6.12.7.2724 Sadly it appears, but under "saved with", as soon as you work off-line (no real scope attached) and re-save the file, that information is lost and becomes "demo" :? I was convinced that even opening the file changed it, but that might have been on an older version, not sur...

Re: Fiesta 2003 1.3 Misfire on Cyl#1

Hi STC Coil plugs and leads were ordered, but leads not fitted, did not stay to see plugs or reset thereafter. Plugs had been out and none with obvious visual issue but means nought in reality, but your points made are valid. Not Mr Martin, sorry! Not the SLC, well the research was due to that, but ...

Re: Dancing Dizzy King Lead waveform - Help!

Thanks Tom I have seen the single slow earth, but this is more extreme and makes analysis of the coil almost impossible ... While the phenomena seems to be repeatable at the time it occurred (and unable to be cured), I was doing more tests today, and the leads were still attached, although the scope...

Feature Request - Capture Scope Model

Hi Pico Dev Team Any chance you can include the ORIGINAL capturing scope model within the "Properties" page. It's not displayed right now, and for post capture checking which scope was used it's quite good to know. (noise levels etc) I'm sure it's in the file. I "think" it gets lost too if you save ...
