Re: Exhaust vibration??

Hi Curt, I have had a Honda in today for a replacement exhaust system. It seems at the moment that these Honda's are a hot topic as the CATs are very easy to gain access to and steal. We have had two in recently where the CATs had been stolen. Initially I thought a battery powered grinder had been u...

Re: Mechanical Injectors Tests

Was going to do some more testing this evening after work but the Pulse diesel injection unit has now failed. I seem to get no end of problems with equipment. I won't be buying another. What I'll do is look more in detail at the NVH kit and see how I can test the vibrations from the injectors with it.

Re: Mechanical Injectors Tests

this is a Transit Di. The injectors are not electronic controlled, they are pure mechanical hydraulic pressure operation only . Understood !!! In this case then I'm guessing it does not have CKP either ? The price of injectors is possibly not economically viable and we still don't know if the pump ...

Re: P0103 Peugeot boxer 2013

If you disconnect the multi-plug from the maf sensor and load test the wire 12V (5 A) i think it was, then if it will hold that load depress the clutch pedal and put the gearbox in reverse, and if the fuse remains in tact, move on from there...

Re: Diesel injection systems

Thanks Ben, I've done a trial run here with an amps clamp as Ivor advised. See here;/support/topic22110.html. Sorry if I've misunderstood Ivor with the Piezo as I thought he was referring to piezo injectors, which this engine has not got fitted. I never thought about the pickup connected to the inje...

Re: Exhaust vibration??

Keep us posted Curt. Just be mindful that if a dyno is used to run the engine up to speed that the engine can and will get very hot very quickly, hence a good cooling fan in front of the car is recommended, and then would create more noise for you to cope with

Re: Mechanical Injectors Tests

Ivor, this is a Transit Di. The injectors are not electronic controlled, they are pure mechanical hydraulic pressure operation only. If the Bosch pump did not deliver enough fuel pressure the injectors would not lift their nozzles to spray fuel. This is the really early stuff from around 2003/4 mode...

Re: Exhaust vibration??

Hi Curt, I've listened through the latest NVH file and predominately what seems to stand out to me in that file is E2. I can't hear the original noise what sounded like the tin plate in that file but what I think I can hear, and I think I heard it in the other files as well, is that something on the...

Mechanical Injectors Tests

I don't know if there is any value to this type of test or not! A Ford Transit 2.0 Di with mechanical injection. I found an old snap on diesel pulse adaptor and now using it with the aid of a current clamp I have scoped the vibration pulses from all four injectors. Reading through the buffer two of ...

Re: P0103 Peugeot boxer 2013

Have you tried a frequency test?

Ign on = 683
Idling = 4133
3000 rpm = 6701

You could load test the supply wire to a maximum of 5A, and if that proves OK you can move on. Maf sensor could have a fault, and sometimes tapping it while running might show something up?
