Re: Coil current ramp

As Robski said. Also Nick points that out in his study. Needless to say, each captured trace should be very similar, having a good self-inductive ramp, a good peak current, and a clean release. Its comparative. The most important part is the peak current and "turn off". If thats OK you know the coil...

Re: Lean misfire – Have you checked the coils?

Technically it wasn’t a lean misfire but a complete shutdown. But the symptoms did a very good job of imitating it. Hence the new MAF and injector clean. The big dumps of fuel it got when injection started again probably helped to give the lean sounding back fire. My thoughts are the coil was sendin...

Lean misfire – Have you checked the coils?

I was presented with this 1991 6cyl E36 325i BMW which had an ongoing problem for the last two years and it seemed unrepairable. The complaint was lack of power, hesitation and the occasional cutting out on acceleration once warm. First up was the test drive to confirm the fault. Sure enough, once w...

OCV Capture wanted.

Hi all. I'm after a waveform for an oil control valve for Toyota VVT The engine is a 3ZR - FBE (be a bonus if some one has that). But I would imagine any 3ZR may do. Or a 2ZR. Even any random late model Toyota VVT OCV. I'm only interested to have a look at the frequency's, not for repair or diagnosi...

Re: MAF Signal

I think this is what Alan was referring to.
Yes, I thought the same.

I was just hoping we would see a better capture first.
My thoughts was the sample rate was too low. Therefore applying the maths there may give an incorrect result. - It's not the Pico way.

Re: MAF Signal

Your sample rate is way too low. X4 at least - avoid aliasing. You want a nice digital signal.
