Re: Audi SQ7 incylinder test

We need captures from all cylinders to see if it is somethin wrong with this cylinder only, or with the whole timing. I have noticed IVO event too late and EVC event too early . This could explain pressure peak at the EXH stroke end. BUT, I need the other captures to compare all these events. What ...

Re: BMW 218i G42 B48 engine vibrations

Do a RC test with coil1 signal as reference. Channel1-2000A amp clamp on battery negative lead and channel2- coil1 command signal. Second capture(1s/div), channel1-CKP sensor, channel2-20/60A amp clamp on coil1 power supply, channel3-20/60A amp clamp on injnector1. Repeat second capture 5-6 times to ...

Re: Nissan Micra K13 2015 Timing related issue!

Scope the 12V power supply to A/F ratio sensor heater at the same time with VVT solenoid, as they share the same line. What is the engine code? Is it the one with turbocharger?

Re: Nissan Micra K13 2015 Timing related issue!

Measure the voltage at VVT solenoid connector when disconnected and engine running. On one pin you should have 12V, the other one is a ground controlled PWM from ECM. For any electrical issue, like open circuit, short to ground/power, low voltage, you should get P0010 fault code. Most of times VVT ...

Re: Exhaust Valve Sticking - Poor Emissions - Part 2

Roughly speaking, at idle, the valve overlap event begins at 15* before TDC and ends at 15* after TDC. Could be more or less on any side, but not important for the following analysis. Between 30*-60* before this TDC, an exhaust valve opens releasing a pressure spike inside the overlap window time ...

Re: Exhaust Valve Sticking - Poor Emissions - Part 2

The screenshot above captures a missing-exhaust-pulse event at the downpipe (blue trace) and the corresponding event at the tailpipe (red trace), some 10ms later. From this, it is clear that the exhaust valve in No 1 cylinder is the culprit. Missing an exhaust pressure pulse from exhaust side, is ...

Re: Poor emissions - exhaust valve sticking

Could you elaborate these ideas, please?
"the sudden expansion of the exhaust gas dissipates the kinetic energy of the gas"
"gas particles becoming trapped between the seat rubbing face"
