Re: Hello from a new chum

Hi again ! During this learning period my aim is firstly to understand what I see happening on the screen. This is best achieved by scoping known good signals. Once you get a grasp of what is good then you should be able to spot a bad. On that vehicle there, you could introduce faults and look for t...

Re: Nissan Micra K13 3 cyl cam vs crank correlation

Have seen my share of Nissans with the Stretched Timing Chain, always throwing a P0341 but never a no start. Multiple misfire codes too. The Give away was always erratic manifold vacuum on an analogue gauge and tensioner out more than 10 mm. Visible with its hat off. This I can see is a later engine...

Re: Hello from a new chum

Hi Chum / Kim I would like to understand how it happens, even if it is an unavoidable scope artifact. Let us get the correct perspective on this. Is this waveform taken from a car that runs well or does it have negative symptoms, if so what are they? Snap Throttle is the most Treacherous and Violent...

Re: CAN BUS LOOP

Do we have to substitute a 120 ohm resistor for the removed computer Yes, it is wise to do so. As long as you KNOW that the module you removed has the 120 ohm resistor stitched in to it. If not then NO !! or can we just put a wire loop on the CAN bus terminals of the connector on the BUS side. No y...

Re: Help for the newbie

This has now confused me even more because there doesn't seem to be a ref for TDC can anyone help me lol. The Design engineer and ECU can take the TDC reference from not only the Crank Sensor and the Missing tooth !! Go back to some BMW Diesels with the Bosch VP44 pump. For sure there are better an...

Re: CAN Bus wave pattern for 2007 Jeep GC WK?

There is no continuity between 1 and 13. The wiring diagram must have an error.
If 1 & 13 had continuity then the two wires must be joined, Which they are not. Why would you look for continuity at 2 pins on the same plug ??

I am aware 4&5 are Grounds in the DLC!

Plenty More than 90% of Garage owners and their Technicians will boast, yes boast, that electronics in cars is all wrong and they cannot understand it. Yet the Boeing 747 celebrates its 50th Birthday. Visit 20 Garages in your city and ask the technicians a question, which component has terminals mar...

Hi Buddy.
Be sure to look at the Videos, Tutorials, Case Studies.

You will be an expert scoper in no time.

Scanner Danner on You Tube is unbeatable as a start to utilising Pico. Make good use of that, just my 2 cents.

Re: Diagnosising old school ignition coil

And I thought having a coil for each plug was making the coil have to work much less. That could be one reason !! Indeed yes, the coil will have a longer rest period but also more time to recharge. With Turbochargers added to nearly every engine Compression in the Chamber is higher and more Voltage...
