Re: When relative compression steers you in the wrong direction

That's a great read Ben thanks for taking the time to tell us about it as its definitely something I would consider in the future, like you say there is always something to learn. I try to think would this have caught me out and the answer would have to be yes, the fact this was spotted before chang...

Re: Strange DAF LF can bus problem

It maybe a little to late reply to be of any help, I had a similar issue a few years back with an LF that had suffered a voltage spike from a nearby lightening strike which begun as a no start/no comms which was traced to a burnt wire but then like you started but no throttle, I cannot remember the ...

Re: Differences between Denox 2.2 and Cummins aftertreatment systems

I have had another one fail in a similar fashion recently but this time it was clearly caused by an internal leak allowing def to eat away at all of the electric connections, there seems to be some hefty difference between the prices on the injector module between Daf and Scania despite it appearing...

Re: One waveform One picture

Great write up Ben, no thanks needed as without my Pico I would have struggled to prove the problem as with no codes to give us a clue we would have been guessing. I would have loved to replace all 6 injectors but I struggled to convince the customer to replace 4 he felt that doing 1 or 2 would have...

Re: FORD FIESTA 1.4 DURATORQ INJECTOR CURRENT QUERY

Although I cannot help with your capture I can relate to the symptoms and this engine, on the one I worked on it had been to a few garages but I got lucky with the visual inspection and found the wiring to the Crank sensor had fell out of its clip on the rear o/s of the engine and was rubbing the o/...

Re: Renault C460 Misfire

I did ring the dealer and sadly the tools aren't available to us, the part no.s go in and they even relate to the tools in your link but we can't buy them  It seems Volvo at least in the UK anyway don't recognize this as a repair to the problem and their solution is to replace the rocker arm a...

Re: Volvo D7e fuel system woes, beware Long Story

Hi Carl, I didn’t look for the filings in the filter as someone had been there before me and replaced it but to be fair I stopped worry about them as when these very first come out the company I worked for at the time had a full fleet of them as skip lorry’s and we used to service them 12 weekly and...

Re: Renault C460 Misfire

I don't suppose you know the part no. for the tool? Some of their tools are fairly cheap so could be worth having in the tool box, some tools are stupid expensive like the old piece of roof rack they use for lifting the rocker shaft which was about £900 I wouldn't be without it tho :D

Re: Volvo D7e fuel system woes, beware Long Story

Thanks for the input, yes that test is the exact same as what I do on this system. When I find hi returns volume the capping of the injectors does pinpoint the problem injector pretty accurately and has never failed me on this system in the past. I have seen it where all 6 injectors have failed on t...
