cable length

And, are there any cautions about USB cable length? Somewhere I saw information that the long 4.5 meter cable has been discontinued in its USB 3.0 version. I have only USB 2.0 ports on my laptop. The existing cable is 1.8m m long.

Red LED stops blinking; is my cable bad?

I've been having issues with our 4423 scope. Waiting for a trigger, sometimes the red LED stops blinking, even though the vehicle is running and all 4 channels are hooked up to live signals. No action shows up on the screen when this happens, even though it shows "running". Sometimes I can get the a...

is there a way to search the forums for a phrase?

Advanced search has an option "Search for all terms or use query as entered", but this returns either or (as stated). Quote marks don't help.

Idle Speed Control Valve current waveform?

Chasing an intermittent idle stall (https://www.picoauto.com/support/topic22349.html), but can't seem to find what the current waveform for a 2-wire idle speed control valve should look like (though there is an "Idle Speed Control Valve ISCV current" choice in the prepopulated list of channel labels...

Re: capture triggers randomly?

Never mind. I think the hysteresis setting was too large. I set it to 0% and it triggered when shutting off the vehicle. Thanks.

another failure to trigger?

I must be doing something wrong. Doesn't matter if I use PS 6 or 7. Single trigger set to fire on Channel 4, tach drive pulse width, negative pulse dropping to less than 40 mV for more than 100 msec. I shut off the vehicle with the key. Should this not have triggered?

Re: What sensors would kill an engine if they dropped out?

I installed the fuel pump correctly, after a couple of attempts. It pumps the tanks down well.

Thanks, vasek and liviu2004. More info, which is just what I was looking for!

Re: What sensors would kill an engine if they dropped out?

Yes, it's ABZ 4.2 l engine. I only have a 4 channel scope, so I have to try combinations of traces at different times. On the list you sent (thank you!), a few questions and comments - 1.ECU crankshaft input - behaves as expected before, during, and after a stall. The signal isn't dropping out. 2.EC...

What sensors would kill an engine if they dropped out?

This is related to a topic on triggering the 4423 scope when the vehicle is unattended and stalls, intermittently. https://www.picoauto.com/support/topic22306.html Now that the trigger has been fixed (by avoiding the use of the level dropout trigger), I thought I'd start a new thread about the stall...

Re: capture triggers randomly?

I do have one reservation here; to the right of the trigger diamond we have 1 second of screen time (2 x 500 ms/div) and this is the delay specified in your trigger. Even with the pretrigger set at 50%, the same (met) trigger conditions failed to trigger. I can't seem to attach the psdata file; I s...
