NVH Sample Rate

Hi Guys,

Quick question, what is the sample rate for NVH?

Is there a difference when using the microphone vs. accelerometer vs multiple accelerometers?

Thank you

Re: K-Line Serial Decoding Support?

Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback. I have attached two waveforms from an electronic ignition switch to steering lock actuator on a W204 Mercedes. We don't really have any technical documentation on this bus, but I believe it is K-line. We often have issues with programming of these devices, and this ...

E-Motor Fault Testing

Hi Guys, I have been seeing a significant rise in the number of vehicles seeing what appears to be de-magnetization of the rotor in permanent magnet synchronous motors. This tends to occur on vehicles with high mileages and typically the power electronics reports excessive current demand from the e-...

Re: Quiescent Current Measurement without Current Clamp

Hi Steve,

As there is a lockdown in Malaysia I decided to build my current shunt.

Unfortunately I'm not able to try it on a vehicle until after the lockdown, but I'm quite satisfied with the result :-)

Cheers

Re: Quiescent Current Measurement without Current Clamp

Hello Steve, I sure will! Actually I am presenting this topic this week for Mercedes-Benz USA ADST as part of a serial decoding workshop. What I have produced is a way to get the scope to record 3 can/lin/flexray channels along with current for bus wakeup issues. Using a single trigger and the captu...

Re: Quiescent Current Measurement without Current Clamp

Hello Steve, Thanks for the feedback! I ordered this one and shunt more similar to what you would use to monitor a caravan battery setup. I think I'll use both with a resettable fuse rated at 10A and build the whole thing into a nice housing with banana jack's so it's easier to handle. Cheers for yo...

Re: Quiescent Current Measurement without Current Clamp

Hi Steve, Do you have a picture of this 0.1Ohm resistor you used? Where did you source it from and do you have a part number? What's the maximum continuous current handling capability? I've been trying to find a current shunt online, I found one from Keysight Technologies; https://www.keysight.com/e...
