Re: Direct injection diesel engines

You can use an old injector and just take the nozzle needle out. Make a connection to connect your gauge.
works well and it fits

Re: Direct injection diesel engines

You could look at T & E Tools part No 4453 You have only to access points being glow plugs or injectors.

Ignition Coil Current

Has anyone seen a ignition coil current wave from like this ? The vehicle is a Toyota Celica ST 162 1988 with a 3SF e engine. Distibutor with inbuilt ignition coil and two sensors 1 engine speed sensor and 1 position sensor The primary current stays high too long and is fluctuating leading to coil f...

Re: Exhaust Camshaft Timing Toyota 3SFE

This engine has a distributor with a engine speed sensor and a cam position sensor fitted as well as the ignition coil fitted. No map sensor but a vane type air volume sensor. Also no Crankshaft position sensor. Maybe there are different set ups in different countries. This is Australia

Re: Exhaust Camshaft Timing Toyota 3SFE

Thanks for the replies. I was after a wave form to show the cam timing if possible. This vehicle is from another workshop and I looked for an unrelated issue. ( Ignition system ) It actually runs not to bad . I wanted to know whether my assessment is correct because I have no reference wave form. So...

Re: Exhaust Camshaft Timing Toyota 3SFE

I want to add that the car is a Celica ST162R and there are no camshaft phasers and has solid lifters.

Exhaust Camshaft Timing Toyota 3SFE

Attached is the in cylinder pressure wave form of a Toyota engine at idle. I believe that the exhaust cam shaft is too far advanced. On this engine only the inlet cam shaft is driven by the timing belt. The exhaust cam shaft is driven through a gear of the inlet cam shaft. the marking to fit the exh...

Re: Vito 2006 646.980

Reading your post it seems you perform more " Guesnostics " than Diagnostic. The compensation Values are OK with the exception of cyl 2 just a bit high compared to the rest. The ECU seems in control of the injectors. As a rule the sum of all corrections is about O. You should not disconnect or block...

Re: Ranger 3.2 Relative compression waveform

Hi Burt, I f you sync your waveform with the firing order 1-2-4-5-3 you could have a head gasket leak on cyl 2 -3 This would be confirmed by the uploaded form with diagnostic software. Normally there are rarely issues with head gaskets on diesel engine these days. Almost always there is a primary re...
