Re: Interesting CAN BUS fault on 2018 Landrover discovery

Hi guys thanks for your help but there is no gateway module between scan tool and can bus wires. Pins 6 and 14 are directly onto the bus. And the engine definitely does cut out due to the fault as I have since unplugged the diff module and other than a traction control light and a couple of warning ...

Interesting CAN BUS fault on 2018 Landrover discovery

Hi guys need a bit of help with this one. 2018 Landrover discovery sport. Customer has just purchased vehicle. Since owning it they have had this intermittent fault, it is fine when first started but after 10 -20 mins of driving it starts with a traction light and warning messages about the 4WD and ...

Re: Ford Focus 1.0L M1DA engine Crankshaft sensor fault code and injectors dropping out intermittently

Hi Roman, Thanks for your help but thinking back I have scoped power and grounds at sensor when fault occurs using breakout leads it made no difference to the fault at all. Unfortunately I think that completely eliminates that theory. The fault is to much in unison with the engine but I am unable to...

Re: Ford Focus 1.0L M1DA engine Crankshaft sensor fault code and injectors dropping out intermittently

Hi Roman thanks for your reply but since the last post I have noticed a pattern which is in an earlier capture (uploading in this post) This is too much of a coincidence to ignore. In this capture every time the crank just passes its maximum velocity seen in the upwards hump on the math's channel th...

Ford Focus 1.0L M1DA engine Crankshaft sensor fault code and injectors dropping out intermittently

Hi guys need your help with this one. It randomly logs a crankshaft sensor fault ( you can see it if you zoom in on the crankshaft sensor signal in line with the spikes on the math's channel in black in the file named crank vs cam). It has had a genuine ford sensor which made no difference. If you l...

Re: Citroen C3 cam vs crank fault engine timing is GOOD

Cam v crank ratio is fine as it has started and run from Cold and restarted whilst cold with no problems and no fault codes. There is only ever 2 fault codes being stored ones mentioned above. If you leave it to power down completely and then try a hot restart you get a little cough as the ECU tries...

Re: Citroen C3 cam vs crank fault engine timing is GOOD

That doesn't explain why it won't start and logs cam crank correlation faults during a crank no start and can also be seen on oscilloscope whilst cranking an out of time inlet camshaft. The VVT is not operational whilst cranking and I would expect an engine that has no oil in it at all to still fire...

Re: Citroen C3 cam vs crank fault engine timing is GOOD

Thankyou for the reply but even if the valve tronic system is causing the peak compression to change explain how the cam v crank is changing at exactly the same time as this should have no effect on the cam timing? I can see the Inlet cam v exhaust cam on cam signals shifting to advanced in time and...

Re: Citroen C3 cam vs crank fault engine timing is GOOD

In pic attached the peak compression on the left is high and the cam v crank is off then the engine is stopped in the middle and then restarted and it returns to idle with a lower peak compression and a cam v crank that is now good prooving beyond all doubt that the mechanical timing is changing the...

Citroen C3 cam vs crank fault engine timing is GOOD

There is always that one that defies us. Got a 2010 citroen C3 1.6 engine code 5FS (EP6C) chassis VF7SC5FS9AA677179. Presented to us with an intermittent crank no start 2 Fault codes stored P0341 inlet camshaft position sensor out of range/performance & P0366 exhaust camshaft engine power too low (t...
