Re: EV Energy consumption

Terrible but for photo evidence and quick diag to check excess amperage on a phone its either One Pro or Seek that hs its own shortcomings. Each has their place as well s the handheld monstrosities made by FLIR, Fluke, and Snap on for an ungodly amount for little warranty.

Re: Encoders and Quadrature decoder

Ben or Steve, Pico should be it’s own certification not unlike computer coding and such for all OEMs since you folks literally sell them an OEM version of a scope kit with NVH but they never actually follow suit to teach the methods you all utilize. As always this is mind blowing and hopefully one d...

Re: EV Energy consumption

There is another selling point of an 8 channel EV Master Kit. Throw in the link for a FLIR One Pro as well to boot. That is fantastic if you could record in thermal over that same 6 hour time frame to Level 1 to DC fast charging as well. Here is to looking to the future case studies. Get those folks...

Re: Welcome to EV

Steve, This is wildly cool and as ever about time. We are going in almost 20-25 years with Hybrid and ELectric vehicles. Finally, the aftermarket is gaining on the OEM dealers in terms of training and tools now. That is very cool and exciting. Being one of the perks of being a Toyota Master is getti...

Re: New Beginner NVH purchaser

As a whole Steve these resources that you all at Pico Tech have incorporated into the software and tireless hours taping for the videos are a huge help. I know NVH reading for each vehicle is almost as unique as a fingerprint or sound frequency whereas some are as general as tire orders and such. I ...

Re: New Beginner NVH purchaser

Yes Weber University in Utah USA. He designed his own NVH app here in the states that is ridiculously good I hear and at $400 USD why not? He also has incredibly amazing deep dive breakdowns of Hybrids and Electric vehicles which was instrumental in acquiring my L3 ASE for Advanced Hybrid Repair. I ...

New Beginner NVH purchaser

Just bought a starter NVH kit and I am loving it. The videos you guys have along with the Quick Setup and the Help button is amazing but is there a detailed training guide since there are some things I am just not able to use common sense and read through some of the literature to find all the accur...

Re: TA204 COP probe scale setting preference

its a talking point killer. I was showing the difference, not asking for an explanation. I am aware of why it is different if you read my whole post.

TA204 COP probe scale setting preference

This is a waveform with the COP probe. Once scale is taken with mV scale of about 500mv to 100mV. Much more detail and my preference now. Another waveform is kV which is kind of fuzzy and with a filter it looks unrecognizable from an Ignition waveform. I did have the scaling different for each at th...

Re: TA018 Amp Clamp Negative mA reading?

Steve, Yes, when removed the Amp Clamp does return to normal and when turning on a dome light, amperage will spike then slowly drift to zero. We were using it on a 2020 Camry that has an Enhanced Flooded Battery. We did surmise that the negative could have been slight discharge from the battery. It ...
