Carry out an insulation test across the piezo stacks on the injectors.
From High to low then both to body ground.
If attach the scope to the injectors with the airbox removed and manipulated the rubber coated harness on the top of the valve cover.

Re: Ford fiesta 1.6tdci Injector wave pattern

Check the ckp signal against cyl 1 for reference, ckp tone rings are very troublesome and the magnets do seem to loose strength over time. Might also be worth disconnecting the alternator and seeing if your symptoms are still apparent ( just put the battery on a support unit whilst testing) this wou...

Re: 2013 Ford focus will not perform DPF regeneration

Hello Is the replacement dpf a genuine part? I have seen a few "remanufactured" units that have had the bosses for egt13 replaced due to shearing off. This causes the temp sensor to sit out of the hottest part of the exhaust gas. If you connect one channel of the scope to vaporiser pump duty and one...

Re: 2012 ford galaxy smoking

Soot load of 300percent open or closed loop. Sounds like the pcm had locked the soot calculation ,did you try to reset the dog learned values if so both open and closed loop would revert back to null or zero. I have had experience of this with the dw10 engine and the update isn't the fix it's just i...

Re: 2012 ford galaxy smoking

Morning Andy Do you have any Dtcs stored The vapouriser is basically a Venturi so a mechanical device. The fuel delivery to vaporiser is controlled by modulating the in line pump and should only be done in regen. Check serially the egt temps and soot masses as stored in live data , with the concern ...

Re: Injector Waveform: Ford Mondeo MK3 1.8 Duratec HE 2006

The egr valve on these causes a symptom like you describe ,it's a small water cooled item bolted directly to the cylinder head above the transmission. I would suggest blanking it just to see if it's having any influence.

Re: Ford Fiesta ST3 Cam/Crank Correlation

You will need to run the ckp learned values reset with IDs , Alternatively clear the pcm learned values with forscan. The misfire profile correction should also be run to ensure the diagnostic monitors for sensing misfires are learnt correctly and do not cause false triggering of DTC,s . Regards Danny

Re: Ford Ranger cam code P1174

Your welcome Darren , Steve adaptive values are making diagnostics more and more difficult ,fault code designation and calibration doesn't help either as techs these are the daily struggles we face just to make a crust. One thing this forum does well is being together like-minded Techs to share expe...
