Are you sure this is a hall sensor and not magneto resistive .

Check the connectors on the underside of the gem module or as you call it bcm .
Sounds like he has knocked one of the snail cams than secure the connectors latched this would give you the symptoms described and usually an implausible ambient temperature reading .

The egr is quite common to short the reference voltage in these engines in fords , it usually spikes the frp giving a code respectively for the fuel pressure deviation and bloody never gives an egr code or ref voltage code in my opinion poor calibration of the dtcs . Hi ,a can communication error wouldn't result in hunting at idle and no throttle response.
So lets start again have you any dtcs stored?
Id be starting with basics air leaks on the intake , but let me know on the dtc,s etc and il try and assist.

Your quite right the vaporizer glow plug is supplied with battery voltage via the relay , my advice is to bridge pins 3 and 5 at the relay and volt drop the circuit using a 21w bulb to load it in place of the vaporizer. Tech all you need to do is check the negative battery terminal for presence of a bms sensor this will verify if the vehicle runs normal smart charge or smart regenerative charging. If theres a bms it will be on the battery negative terminal , at the bms sensor ,2wires one red battery voltage, one white lin bus.
