Re: BNC Test leads

Hi again technician! First trace - the uggly 50Hz wave on channel A (blue trace) with cable ground hanging in the air - channel B-D BNC's is unconnected. On the second trace, all channels are unplugged and that is why the noise level is that low and as it should be unless there is something wrong wi...

Re: BNC Test leads

Hi Technician! When nothing is connected to either of channel A to B - as seen in my picture with just a slight DC offset because I just turned my 4425 on - there should be no more than, with a 50 mV range setting, a couple of mV of noise. In the other trace of mine you can see the 50Hz (20mS betwee...

Re: P1166 fuel deviation is this a rare EMI case? PLEASE HEL

Sorry, it should be 3,5 amps peak current, used 12 volts as B+ in my formula...

Re: P1166 fuel deviation is this a rare EMI case? PLEASE HEL

Hi Rym and thanks for sorting things out! That is a nice setup that hopefully lead to success! If the fault occur you will probably have all evidence needed, at least what the regulator circuit concerns. Yupp! I noticed that it starts a bit earlier and gets worse with a peak voltage drop to approx. ...

Re: P1166 fuel deviation is this a rare EMI case? PLEASE HEL

Hi RYM6746! I was wondering about your statement: "I can confirm with no doubt that the control side of the fuel pressure regulator is partially being grounded (when it is not supposed to be) every time an injector fires." What made you fully convinced that it is like that? It is not that I question...

Re: Forum Areas

Yes, I saw that it was an old thread, but truly with many good ideas and among them a pile of good ones from Fat Freddy that made me glad. Since there has not been any changes – neither any follow-ups, which puzzles me – I would like to know what happened. I think it would be wise, or a must, to hav...

Re: is this a bad maf wiring fault ? ecu ? any help, thank m

Volrem, thank you for clarifying! Well, then the 12 volts drop is what to be worried about and in worst case - again if my diagram serves me right information - it could as well affect the power feed to the ECM, it all depends upon where you have a bad connection in the chain. We will wait until Mar...

Re: is this a bad maf wiring fault ? ecu ? any help, thank m

Hi Piconewtrain! Best thing is to get right wiring digram which Martinjensen kindly offer, the one I posted was from Autodata and both were just about the same for the D4164T and D4162T 1,6D DRIVEe engine. Non of them feed the the 12 volts to the MAF from the ECM, it goes from 30 (battery +) through...

Hi Piconewtrain! Volvo’er! I am indeed from Sweden, but really, no Volvo fan. That was a creepy one! Yes, both power feeds, 5 and 12 volts, should be stiff. There is no way you could have a voltage drop of 6 volts measured at the MAF connector, connected to MAF, unless there is a measurement e...

H piconewtrain!

Nasty fault!

Could you please tell me if you had your DMM's black lead to battery minus in both measurements.

Regards
