Re: High voltage cable testing

According to the link the complaint is a good few months old and it seems the fault has been fixed. Terminal damage/diconnection due to shipment movement with fork lift.

Welcome kaizmoto

5.7 1? comes across as a none UK based engine?

Re: BMW F21 N13B16A timing chain lengthened

Hi, I'm a little confused as to why you need a waveform now that you have eastablished that the chain is not okay. I'd now be renewing the chain kit and checking over anything that could be affected by the chain drive. Once you have the engine running correctly, you can then scope your own cam and c...

Re: Mini R56 error 2DA0

Hi, ideally the traces need to be labelled so we know exactly which trace belongs to which part of the engine, i.e. cam, crank. The crank trace looks like a speed reference only and does not provide TDC reference. There is an ignition firing point present which is normally around TDC when firing. Th...

Re: Relative compressions test

Was it not designed just for a quick visual test so that the technician can see a fault or just move on quicker, knowing either the compression's are okay or not?

Is it not just as quick to use an amps clamp and sync a cylinder along with volt drop from the battery?

Re: Vauxhall Insignia 2.0cdti won’t start

Hello and welcome, reading your post I seem to think you have jumped in a little too deep too quickly, which might now of created more problems than you originally had? It might therefore be a good idea to start a fresh. Record the fault codes you have and clear them. Ensure the vehicles battery is ...

I have that tool, the TDB003. I'm not 100% sure about it's reliability at the moment but will post back soon.

Re: Automotive Oscilloscope book

Also available in print. The problem with books written by individuals is that the "slang" (if that is the correct word to use) is personal to the people writing the book, which not all people can or will understand it. What is missing from the automotive industry, and has been missing for more than...

Re: AC Mains Electrical Interference

I've experienced the same problem a couple of years back. In my example we found after investigations that the cause was the laptop mains supply was not filtered. I purchased a new main supply cable with a built in filtered and all was okay.
