As I understand it, a common rail solenoid operated injector uses the spill as an aid to injector opening by allowing rail pressure to lift the pintle off it's seat so that fuel under pressure can be injected. Hi thanks for the comments, as I stated in my original post the wps was actually T'd very close to the vacuum capsule. In fact about 2 inches to be precise therefore measuring vacuum directly at the capsule.

To be honest know I had not seen those captures. I have had the wps for a couple of years now and would not be without it. Lots of useful information gathered by its use. I only posted it because it was an everyday issue but not easily diagnosed by any conventional method.
