Re: Interesting CAN BUS fault on 2018 Landrover discovery

Hi First let me say that I have no experience with Landrovers and therefore do not have an easy solution to your problem. However, I spent a lot of time decoding other canbus systems and since almost all canbus systems are built the same, it must also apply here. However, I will start by quoting a v...

Re: Wideband oxygen sensor NTK UAA0004-MM002.(Outlander Sport)

Hi Axis It is a linear broadband oxygen sensor. Don't get confused by the voltage measurements I took on an NTK ZFAS U2 broadband oxygen sensor, they are raw data from the sensor itself, i.e. not processed data. The log file you have recorded is processed data from the processor and it is linear - t...

Re: Wideband oxygen sensor NTK UAA0004-MM002.(Outlander Sport)

Hi there. My help extends to this image from the EPA. When you look in the EPA database of type approvals of motor vehicles in the USA, I find that this type of linear broadband oxygen sensor is fitted in a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.0L year 2016 in the following test group GMTXT02.4G5P. As shown ...

Re: NTK ZFAS U2 - WIDEBAND OXYGEN SENSOR CASE STUDY

Here is just a follow-up since my last post regarding the warm-up phase of this special broadband oxygen sensor. Here I talked about how long it takes for the broadband sensor to warm up or become active. Just be patient until it's fully warmed up - this will mean between 3-4 minutes on a road test....

Re: BMW BSD (Bit Serial Data) protocol

Hi Brownal

I managed to find this document from Motoplat, where it is especially at the end of the document titled "Tech Info" that you find most of the relevant technical information.

I hope this is what you are looking for!.

Re: What is the correct way to test the fuel low pressure system on a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI - CHLA engine type?

I couldn't quite let go of my bad diagnostic test or my lack of knowledge on how to test for a bad fuel pump module (J538). Then I thought - what does a fuel pump module consist of and here I am thinking of electronic components and is it possible to do an electrical test of the module (J538) remove...

Re: What is the correct way to test the fuel low pressure system on a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI - CHLA engine type?

Hi Just as I thought I was done troubleshooting this fuel pump I was hit with new problems regarding the fuel supply to the engine. It started with a flashing engine light and with subsequent reduced engine power for the next 500 meters and after that the engine died completely. You could start the ...

Re: What is the correct way to test the fuel low pressure system on a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI - CHLA engine type?

Hi Steve

It now works as expected. Should I just continue using this 7.0.104 Early Access version?

I have tried with the semicolon separator in Picoscope 7 stable version and it does not work.

Thanks for the help Steve. :)

Re: What is the correct way to test the fuel low pressure system on a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI - CHLA engine type?

I agree with you Kim, these are figures based on our theories and it would be good to define a typical BLDC pump speed at idle. Does VCDS incorporate a pump speed value for verification? I haven't seen anything regarding fuel pump speed in VCDS - it would be so nice to have this feature - just to h...

I'm just a little unsure if "Martin's Method" can be used on this type of brushless motor. This motor uses 120° Square-Wave Commutation and not sinusoidal (sine-wave) commutation as I believe was used in Ben's case.

But I'm sure Ben can answer this question ?.
