Re: 2005 Corsa C Misfire

Thanks FF, got a capture of primary current and secondary voltage, hope this is of use and interest to you. As Robski said, this ignition system does multi strike as a feature, not a symptom or fault. Not sure under what conditions but have seen it regularly which checking this vehicle, new one to m...

Re: 2005 Corsa C Misfire

Hi, went to the vehicle today, started ok, fault still present as before. Pulled it into the workshop, decided to remove the plugs from the ECU to check everything looked visually ok. Refitted the connectors, started the vehicle, the fault has now gone. Tried wiggling the connectors and wires to rec...

Re: 2005 Corsa C Misfire

The vehicle has had no previous work. I know it well, been parked up waiting for a body repair, flat battery, jump stated a couple of time. I do have the COP extension leads, I will get the captures you suggest and post them for you to view. Off work until Friday, will get them up asap, thank you fo...

Re: 2005 Corsa C Misfire

Hi FF, thanks for the reply. Sorry about the sample rate, something else I will have to brush up on... the coil is the cassette type, on top of the plugs, 6 wires. I hooked up to pin 6, I think it is cylinder no 4, primary voltage. What i found strange is why the coil attempts to fire twice on all t...

2005 Corsa C Misfire

Hi, I am currently looking at a Corsa C 1.2 Twin port. The vehicle starts and runs fine for about 20 seconds then the eng man light starts to flash and the engine misfires. Fault codes stored are P0300 Random / Multiple misfire, P0301 Misfire Cylinder 1 and P0304 Misfire Cylinder 4. Switch the ignit...

Re: Fiat 1.3 JTD Intermitant Poor Start

Hi, it is a single control system, FPR on the rail, pressure sensor on the other end. Bosch system. Does any one know how much current the FPR uses while cranking on a known good vehicle? Is it possible that the ECU detects the FPR is drawing too much current, ie sticking, therefore switches it on a...

Re: Fiat 1.3 JTD Intermitant Poor Start

Hi guys, thanks for the input. I'm not happy to call the PCM at all, the last thing I want to do is get it wrong. That's why I've come here for some guidance. I've clearly not done so checks surgested, fairly new to this. Could you please explain what you mean by current and volt drop check? Would I...

Fiat 1.3 JTD Intermitant Poor Start

Hi all, been looking at a 54 plate Fiat Panda 1.3JTD common rail diesel for intermittent poor start. Think I have found the fault, just looking for a second opinion really. Carried out basic checks, injector back leakage, fuel pressure supply and found no fault. Looking at the fuel pressure signal w...
