Re: Exhaust Camshaft Timing Toyota 3SFE

Off of memory. One of the gears are (possibly) a scissor gear, a 10mm bolt has to be inserted to lock the gear. On some of the other Toyota's there were two sets of marks, first to do the timing, the second to confirm. I'd pull the rocker cover off and recheck the cam gears, the 3SFE is quite a simp...

Re: 1995 Toyota 4runner hard starting when cold

I should of added ,I'll use a piece of clear hose with a twisted loop (loop to the top to check for air) in it where the line goes into the pump to confirm.

Re: 1995 Toyota 4runner hard starting when cold

I'll assume 'cold' means sitting a while?

Have you checked for air bleeding into fuel line (clamps, split/hard hose, etc) allowing fuel to drain back to tank? Common as hell

Re: In cylinder, timing variation per cylinder

IMO your cranking speed is way to low (from sitting parked up or because of endless cranking :?: :?: :?: :?: ). But that would defo exacerbate the problem as more time for the cylinder to leak down. Again, IMO, I wouldn't expect a cylinder to fire with less than 100psi during cranking, although at i...

Re: In cylinder, timing variation per cylinder

Also may explain the high compression on a well sealed cylinder due to the longer duration the inlet valve is open for, allowing the cylinder to 'fill' more efficiently...........Possibly

Re: In cylinder, timing variation per cylinder

TDC can not be taken from compression peaks on a leaky cylinder as the cylinder starts to lose compression faster than the piston can generate it due to a slowing piston speed as it approaches true TDC there fore advancing the compression peak. In the image below I have aligned all three cylinders u...

Re: Zafira A z18xe misfire

Is this repaired? Went down this road about nine years ago with same engine. https://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1333103032/0 I repaired the damage but still had a problem that only disappeared with another (the 3rd) ecu, since then I've been unsure how many faults I was dealing with. On...

Re: First look sensor signal delay

In my case, a longer hose changes the time delay significantly, Would you have any data files to show that? If not, you've given me an excellent idea. Does anybody have the chance to do similar measurements with a pico WPS or first look sensor to proof my theory? Yes, I have. It's on here somewhere...

Fixed: (at the mo). Pressure reg fixed the pressure problem. New ECU fixed comms. He's rapped, taking it out to kill some stuff.

Re: Piezo injector operation. Current vs voltage

My comment is in reference to this statement.
So when my fluke shows me 12V or -12V, it does not show me voltage direction (a bit improper word).
No voltage direction. It's relative potential difference. Just like the linesmen doing his job safely.
