Re: Lap top recommendations?

Whilst we are talking laptop specs, will Picoscope be utilizing USB3 for their oscilloscope products in the near future?

Re: High RPM dyno diagnostics?

Thanks for that wally. Does the 4423 have the ability to stream data to the PC once the buffer is full, I call it a roll mode function, but people seem to have different terms for it? If so, given the above sort of scenario, once the buffer is filled what happens then? Is the data that is streamed a...

Re: 3423 versus 4423 scopes

Thanks for such an in depth and clear reply Lee, much appreciated. As I see it I might as well go for the 4000 series if I make the investment to change from my current USB scope, even used the 3000 series seem to attract high prices, the difference is probably worth while to get a current model. Ma...

Re: Lap top recommendations?

If you need to use the laptop outside, as I do, my biggest problem is screen brightness, in anything other than dull conditions reading the screen is tricky. If you are lab based it's probably not an issue. I work in the motor sport field, and the latest digital dashboard displays from the likes of ...

High RPM dyno diagnostics?

I work with a lot of race engines, how would scopes in general, and the Picoscope in particular cope with a scenario I came across today please? V8 race engine on an engine dyno with unidentified miss under load circa 8500 to 9000 RPM. Could be injection or ignition. 99% sure the engine is mechanica...

Re: Floating and isolated inputs on 3 and 4 thousand series?

Hi Autonerdz, it was more a case of wondering if I needed to take car NOT to do something untoward. To be honest I am using a none automotive USB scope at the moment, a Dataman 526 model http://www.dataman.com/dataman-526-150-mhz-usb-oscilloscope.html which is OK, but I am worried about blowing eith...

Floating and isolated inputs on 3 and 4 thousand series?

Do the 3000 and 4000 series automotive scopes have fully isolated and floating inputs on all channels? Thanks. A healthy and prosperous New Year to all,

Re: Correct diagnostic sequencing?

Thank you very much for the detailed reply. The car is pre OBDII, so I can't read any meaningful codes, unfortunately. I don't have a Pico pressure transducer, it sounds useful, but the price is too much for the occasional road car work I do. I have a wide range of pressure transducers for race car ...
