Re: Is there a way to display 5 or more COP (PRIMARY) ign W4

Yes there is. Use a low current probe to parade all of the coils on one channel and then use a second channel for your sync. On this second channel you can use primary voltage, IC signal, or even an additional low current probe. This depends on which system you are working on. On some vehicles, prim...

Re: Voltage interference on WPS signal?

I'm a bit confused too, Amech. Why do you think fuel pressure is wrong at where you indicated? If anything, what stands out is how the pressure goes negative. Also, it appears to me that the pump quit running about half way during the duration of your cranking. Whatever fuel system you have there is...

Re: Coolant Temperature Sensor

Just adding a little to what Peter said. You want to be careful to promote that there is only one pull up resistor in series with the ECT sensor. Some ECUs will actually switch over to another resistor at midstream temperature monitoring. You may see approximately 4.8V at -30*C and it will go down f...

The single overhead camshaft is located in the cylinder head just below the rocker shafts. There should be a reference mark on the camshaft sprocket for alignment. If you are trying to check to see if the camshaft is in the proper position in relation to the crankshaft, then do what Tom suggested an...

Hi Dave, I have to confess Carl that I don't understand the abbreviations that you used in your reply. Sorry about that. PGM = Power Graphing Meter GMM = Graphing Multi Meter Here is the one I use. http://buy1.snapon.com/products/diagnostics/Vantage.ASP?partno=EETM300f&dir=catalog There shouldn't be...

Hello John, Testing "Air Flow Meters" or "Mass Air Flow" sensors can be tricky when they are frequency based instead of a proportional analog one. It can be done fairly easy enough though using PicoScope. You can do this a few different ways. Utilizing the advanced triggering is one way. Myself, if ...

Thank you, Jim. There are a few things I'd like to add to your post. The PP264 current probe conductor clearance is quite capable of handling most battery terminations for parasitic load monitoring. An excess of 10mm is not that common. That current probe should work well with the vehicle Crisco has...

Hi John, It appears as though Crisco is investigating an elusive parasitc load. Personally, I've never seen a need to log something like this for long periods of time. All the modules on board should typically power down in 45 minutes or less. Maybe he has a node waking up and unable to catch it wit...

PicoScope Superpowers

Nice post, Tom. I would just like to add a few things here: The reason we were able to capture the slow analog Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal and the high frequency Throttle Actuated Control (TAC) digital commands and results with great detail was because the 3423 is in a fast streaming mode....

Hi Michael, Sarah, and Alan, I've been assured that NTW doesn't sell PicoScope. They do have the OTC Genisys and Solarity which isn't even close to being in the same league. Thank you Michael for your moderation. I agree with Alan that this is the wrong forum to be posting about other manufacturer's...
