Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

hi Alan apologies should have measured those events  this caught my eye because i recently had one with similar symptoms at ours low cranking compression and runs fine otherwise i was looking for an expo? it came in for non start i got very similar readings to yours i had low compression on on...

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

hi again Alan ,CS and thanks! well i see big difference if all things are supposed to be even, not perfect but similar! i see a big loss on intake side, slight on exhaust, as we know four is the offending cylinder we could break down the cylinder events and offsets but you have proved very quickly th...

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

hi folks, Cs thanks for that explanation helps me a lot! i had mentioned earlier about rise and fall towers uneven and noticed the larger dip if that is the right word? and thought i was on the right track to see compression escaping you mentioned both cylinders show leaks? could you share what you ...

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

Hello again Alan thanks that makes sence of my findings, assuming im right? lotus.net has lots of info. should we concentrate on cranking waves first? that compression loss should show somewhere? and would expect you have access to a few transducers? cover all possible areas of leaks. look forward to...

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

hello again thought i would post some of the things that looked odd to my eye? had a try? at working out max opening i get different results trying my eye from 94 to 102 from figures given should i be looking at around ivo 16* ivc 58* and evo 27 and evc 44 that would make 16+180+58/2-16=111 and ex a...

Re: Lotus Esprit with low compression

hi nice to see some stuff like this very intersesting! if i was checking i would like to see cranking intake and cranking ex pulses with cylinder id I normally only use cranking current with spark id (timing compression) the wps lowers compression readings when used together maybe see cranking with ...
