TA167 Current Probe + Picoscope 4425

Post by kostelectronics »

Hi all,

Today, i've tryed the TA167 Current-Probe on my Picoscope 4425.
The Problem is: I've get permanent "out of range" Errors (too high), also when i just press the Zero (degauss) button.
The Waveform of my starter-current Looks very noisy too.

What did i'm wrong? do i Need to configure the TA167 in the Software first? (i selected the 2000A Current Probe in 2000A mode) and set the range to +/-500A for this channel.

BR Matthias

Hello Matthias, thank you for the post.

Your configuration is correct as you have selected the right probe setting for your clamp

Could you confirm if other probes (i.e. a x1 test lead) when connected to the same scope channel as your clamp, also indicate "Out of Range"

Could you supply a psdata file of the "Out Of Range" Error and your Starter Current capture?

With regards to "Out Of Range", do you have a Red or Yellow warning triangle indicating an Out of Range condition.

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulty here and for all the questions but this will help resolve your concern.

Take care......Steve
