4423 loose BNC jack

Post by geoffwelsh »

Brand new to forums, please excuse any missteps in protocol and/or guide me.

I have a 4423 that was graciously donated to me about six months ago. It works great, but the channel-A BNC jack is physically loose. Can I open up the case, and just tighten a nut behind the jack (like on "olden days" equipment) or is this a catastrophic failure waiting to occur?

Thank you from Hawaii, USA.

Hi Geoff,

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of #SquigglyLines. :D

The BNC's are a bonded unit so sadly no nut to tighten, usually if a BNC has been over stressed on active service there are other issues as well. Your best course of action is to contact the guys and gals in the US office  https://www.picoauto.com/about/usa-address and have a chat with them. They will arrange a repair for you. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised at the service level.

Kev.
