Hi Martyn, I got feedback from support that 4223 is no longer supported by newer software. I don't mind, for what I need the scope for, works great. It was also pointed that, under dowloads, for discontinued products, 4223 only automotive 6.10.xx works.
Even the 3223 and 3423 will work with the latest release of the software, I am surprised someone told you otherwise as this is one of our major selling points, updates and support in the software for as long as we can and for free
The only limitation is that 6.11 is the last version of software to work on XP machines, but that's due to Microsoft not us.
Not disagreeing with you, just to make it clear it is about automotive software, latest release will cause check usb cable error, tried 3 laptops all different windows vista, 7, x86, x64, several usb cables, gold plated usb cables, tried them all.
Correct me if I am wrong, only with automotive software I can access the waveform database. If you need more details, I have a ticket number.
I have checked the ticket, and the advice about versions was wrong, the colleague who gave the answer is new to the company and there is plenty of information to learn. So sorry about that.
We recommend the use of Pico Blue USB cables, as these have better cores, and better ground connections, to ensure data integrity and better operation. So if you don't have one of these email support@picotech.com and we can get one sent out.
It is a puzzle as to why a software update would cause issues in this respect, so we would need to see the trace files to identify what is going wrong. We can follow this up by email.
I am please to report that latest automotive software works just fine.
What I've done:
- uninstall software
- repair .net (not sure if was needed)
- clean registry
- reboot
- install latest software
- use usb pico cable.
Now I am happily browsing Waveform Library, up to date.
