Catalytic converter & Lambda sensor

Post by Charlie G »

I have a new cruiser motorcycle with standard exhaust pipes which sound very soft. Apparently it has both a catalytic converter and also a Lambda Sensor. I want to fit slip-on straight-thru pipes on for a better sound. Do I need the converter and the sensor? The bike is fuel injected.

Thanks

Charlie,

In the United States, removal or rendering an emission control device useless is illegal and considered "tampering". I'm not sure if this applies to you or not.

Also, you need to keep the Lambda Sensor for fuel control feedback regardless of "off road use only" or not.
