I have tried to search on this one before posting a question and I'm sure there will be a way?
I look after all kinds of vehicles from new to veeeeeeeery old (like me)...... I haven't plugged an old classic car in yet to try.......but I have found the primary waveform tutorial on dwell which shows milliseconds.
Young uns won't have a clue on what I'm on about here, points, condenser, timing advance etc...... But is there a way of calculating the 'Cam Dwell Angle' IN DEGREES please? & how?
I do still have a timing light which is capable of giving me the cam dwell angle in degrees....... But just wondered if the picoscope can calculate it in degrees?
not an expert here
one channel on coil neg
HT pick up on a spark plug lead
Save waveform zoom to shoe 2 Ht events
rotation rulers placed on the two spark events (720 deg ) use the measuring rotation rulers to measure coil time on dwell angle
Engines are not my field but that is how I would try
