Win10, failed to change the language

Post by Belet »

Hi, forum members,
I encountered a problem that I wanted to change the language of PicoDiag into simplified Chinese, but I failed and a error report poped up. Then I tryed other languages and got same errors .
The OS is 64-bit windows 10.
The version of the software is 6.10.18.
Does anyone know how to solve it?
Thanks

Best regards
Belet

Hello Belet and thank you for the post.

Could you try our beta version 1.8.2 build 1066?

This is included with our PicoScope beta build 6.11.5

I have tried the various language conversions and they do convert.

Could you let me know if this resolves your concern?

Take care.....Steve

Thanks for your post, Steve
I installed the beta version 1.8.2 build 1066 as you advised me, but still failed to change the language into any other one.
Maybe there is something incompatible with my new laptop which I bought just a week ago.

But I still couldn't change the English PicoDiagnostics into any other language.

Hello Belet and thank you for the feedback.

I will check with the software team here and see how we can reproduce this symptom.

One possible issue could be the operating system default language version (Windows 8.1 or 10 Chinese)

I will pursue this and feedback as soon as possible.

Take care.......Steve

Hello Belet and thank you for your patience on this matter.

Could you indicate the sequence of events that you experience during the attempt to change the language

For example.
Provide a screen shot of the preferences window complete with the Chinese language and APPLY option.
Provide a screen shot of the PD software before and after attempts to change the language.

Would it be possible to send the trace file for the sequence of events you have described above.

For example:
Open PD, follow the process to change the language to the point where you are requested to restart the program.
Select YES and PD will restart in what should be the desired language.
Close PD and locate the trace file.

Could you then post the trace file here or better still for your own privacy, could you send the trace file for my attention to support@picotech.com

Rest assured when this is resolved I will post the fix here.

Sorry for all the questions Belet but this will help the engineers to pursue this concern.

Take care......Steve

It's a very strange thing that I succeeded in changing the language when I opened a pddata file and applied the selected language option.
Now there is nothing wrong with my laptop I can change the language as I want.
The problem is solved in some way that I don't know.

Best regards
Belet
