LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signal)

Post by LM358 »

Hallo,

I am a Technical Trainer for Renault in Belgium.
On New Espace 5 & Kadjar, Renault uses LVDS for data transport between the RadioNav-unit and the RLink-screen.
I am trying to visualise the signal, which should look like CAN, but with lower voltage levels (between 1.2 and 1.35 (high) and between 1.2 and 1.05 (low)). Speed is also higher than CAN-speed.
With my Pico 4423, I am unable to detect the signal. All I see is a very noisy signal without any content.
Do I need better probes, or is the transmission speed to high for the 4423 ?

Does anyone have any experience with LVDS ?
Thanks in advance for helping me.

BR - Eric.

Here's a Pico set up for LVDS. And this is an 8 bit scope.

Hi Fat Freddy
I have not had any involvement with the Radionav to R link system on a Renault before. On some systems like Flexray we have to use a 60MHZ probe. Would you like me to provide me with an address/ contactdetails and i will send you a probe to try.Hope this helps.
Philip
