diesel injectors

Post by glenn »

Hi all
I'd be really grateful if someone could explain to me what's happening in this waveform to the injector, it's a 2L 2007 reno traffic 11, I've been told that these van's are famous for injector failure the van tick's over few sec's then cuts out and the fault code injectors open circuit, now I don't scope much at all so this is auto set up my trace is nothing like the one shown on the pico, now does this trace prove the injector faulty?

many thanks in advance

Glenn

Have you tried comparing it to another injector?

Hi Avdr
Cheers for reply, well no to be honest I contacted a diesel specialist in ref to this and was convinced its the injectors, so I'm in the process of replacing them, so what wanted to know is if this trace I've got proves a faulty injector? just because its so different to the reference one

thanks
Glenn

Don't take the reference waveforms as gospel every time.

Hi

It may be the injectors there are faulty or it could be the power supply to the injectors there are interrupted momentarily or it may a short-circuit in wiring going to the injectors - if you are getting a DTC for open circuit !!!

Regards
Kim

Build your own library from known good motors.

DTC's ?

An answer to earlier question too ?

It just so happens I'm at work still so I have the codes right here
P2149 fuel injector A group supply voltage circuit open
P2146 """ """""""" B """""""" """"" "" """" """""
