Training courses

Post by GRUSS »

Last week I attended the basic pico scope course down at technical topics with James and found it very interesting! I want to add to this and attend more courses in the next 12 months or so. Ideally I'm after something more local to me (southyorkshire). I got an email earlier today from ADS...

http://www.autoinform.co.uk/training/ad ... on-course/

They also do a range of DVDs etc. I realise that the only real way to learn is with practise with the pico. I got quite a few tips from James that I would of probably not have picked up on without been told.
Also currently reading Paul dannners ebook which is a great read :D

I want to improve my diagnostics skills and get a clearer understanding of the engine management system on a modern vehicle. Working in a main dealer all my career has blind sided me, I feel it's down to me to really start learning.
Work however is sending me on a can bus diagnostics course 4 day in July so that will be very helpful!

Apologies for the rant!

Hi Gruss,

It could be worth your while talking to Matt Williams at Professional Diagnostics
 http://www.prodiag.co.uk/training.html

He is based in Northwich and therefore quite close to your location.

He delivers Pico approved 2 day scope training courses (he is an ex automotive specialist from Pico) :D. he also delivers his courses around the country and has some upcoming dates
 http://www.prodiag.co.uk/training_calendar.html

I know you said that you have done the 1 day basic course with JD but Matt's may well go deeper. :?:

Also the information may be useful to others viewing this thread.

Good luck on you great journey of discovery......!

What course did you do Damian? There's so many on the site... The foundation one looks interesting?

Thanks for the Info pico kev. Matt was one of the first people I spoke to and came very close to buying a scope from him before Xmas but ended up getting one from technical topics.
I'll have to drop him a email and hope there's no hard feelings.. :?

Moi Boy! Business is business, my life already...!

Seriously; knowing Matt he will respect you purchasing decision and not hold it against you in the slightest. 8)

Out of interest what swayed your decision to purchase from JD?
