4 channel kit on its way

Post by Liteace »

As you prob seen in the other post I have ordered the 4 chan kit, I must admit it will not be used that often but the main thing is it will be there when I do need it, I was reading this post:

http://www.picoauto.com/support/topic9086.html#p25143

The 1st thing Im going to probe is a 2003 Nissan\vauxhall\Renault Van 19dci, we dont really do that many diesels, this one a while ago stopped responding to any signal the APPS was sending to the ECU and drove like it had a 100cc engine in, no fault codes was showing and everything checked out ok, after a thorough loom check still everything checked out OK, I pulled the EGR off gave that a test and a good clean and now the van drives 90% better than it did when it had the fault but its still not 100%.
When me Pico gets here where do I start with this one ?

Thanks

Hello there
I've been involved with a chaps 2003 vauxhall vivaro 1.9 van last week. Basically he had been to several garages who couldnt fix the fault. No EM light on but would suffer from lack of power when setting off. It had no DTCS stored, a quick check of the live data fuel pressure, egr, boost and MAF. everything looked ok apart from a lazy MAF reading, it should of gone above 350 when revved but was only reaching 220. I checked the airfilter as these are common for been sucked in or blocked.. all ok. removed the EGR and checked that.. all ok

I then took a capture of the MAF which looked very low....

Yesterday i fitted a new siemens unit and retested.. the green trace is the new MAF
BEFORE AND AFTER VIVARO.gif
Took it for a run with the chap and he was over the moon! his van was finally fixed!
please feel free to use the attached files to compare with your suspect MAF :D

Hes had it since new and he said it felt like the day when he drove it home from the dealers... :D

Quick check of the live data and the new MAF was peaking at 360~kg/h when revved from idle

timo van.psdata

Could you post a jpeg? I'm on my iPhone and won't have access to my laptop for a couple of days...
Infact use my green trace as a reference and over lay it with your capture.
