WPS Compression Hoses

Post by Darren Cotton »

I have all four of the compression hoses for the WPS, one problem i have come across this week is that the latest BMW's have 12mm diameter spark plug... Is it possible to get an adapter for the current hoses so that it adapts down to 12mm or 12mm compression hose for the WPS?

Darren,
We are looking into this but need some additional information on the pitch and depth required. So if you can provide this information hopefully we will be able to help.

Kind regards,

Good to see that you have come up with a solution Darren, it looks neat. You will need to consider the extra volume that the adapter introduces.

I asked for a 12mm hose last year. I'm in the motorcycle business and it's the most common size by a mile. 8mm is the next on my wish list. Tried using the hose from my old Snap On tester but its walls are too flexible and gives a lower reading. Come to think of it the walls on the Pico hose are so stiff it makes threading it into the plug hole difficult, how about a compromise using the teflon lined stainless wrapped hose used in high performance brake systems? It retails for about $10 a foot in here in Canada. Will experiment and report back.

Many masters have sets of adapters under different cars with various fuel systems, and as universal adapters of type a tee under different diameters of fuel tubes.
At sets usually there are on manometres the quick-detachable connections, allowing to connect a manometre to these adapters. Complexity consists that these connections have different standards and are not interchangeable. Thus the manometre from one set cannot be connected to adapters from another. The optimum decision would be to have adapters with WPS500 on other kinds of quick disconnect connections, and also adapters with universal tees.
Also sharply there is a question on compression measurement in diesel engines.
Automobile and lorries for which ready sets are used and also there are quick disconnect connectors.

Hi im thinking of buying a WPS500x the kit comes with 3 compression hoses M10, M14 and ford triton, but there are 2 more available M12 and M18.
Dose anyone know is the ford triton the hose needed for the 1.4/1.6 focus from 1998 on.
Im trying to figure if i should buy the kit or select just a few hoses
Regards Damian
