Write rpm and duty cycle in a line.

Post by hbr »

Hi, I have the following question. The tiepie multi channel software has the ability to convert rpm and duty cycle in a line , it is possible to include this in the pico software?

Hi,

Apologies if I have not understood your question correctly but I am assuming that you are asking if you can plot a graph of RPM / duty cycle against time?

At the moment, duty cycle is available only as a measurement but any frequency can be plotted as a graph, RPM included.

On all scopes this can be done in software as a maths channel (Tools / maths channels) and on the PicoScope 4000 series it can also be done in hardware as well (select frequency from the AC/DC coupling control)

The test for the Airflow Meter (Digital) in the software is another example of plotting frequency.

Depending on what you are using as an input signal as RPM (crank, injector etc) you will need to multiply by a suitable factor to get to RPM.

Yes that's what I mean, if I have a crank signal how do I plot it to a graph? Can you show me an example?
Will the duty cycle function graph be available in the future?
Apologies if my english isn't always very good.

Hi

Here is an example of plotting frequency using the 4000 Series Automotive Scope.
Frequency Measurement for Digital Air Flow Meter
Frequency Measurement for Digital Air Flow Meter
You can see that Channel A is plotted in 'Hz' i.e. Frequency. Channel B shows the trace as a voltage measurement.

You can download this waveform from the attachment and use it as a settings file for the 4000 Automotive Scopes.

I hope this helps

Kind Regards
