Waveform Sharing

What it does #

Waveform Sharing makes it very easy for any PicoScope user to share a waveform so that others can quickly locate it within the Waveform Library.

How it can help you #

When a waveform ID or waveform link is shared within any help manual, support article, case study, or technical bulletin, irrespective of whether it is in email, forum post, web page, or document form, other users can very quickly gain access to the waveform within the Waveform Library. This helps them to quickly use it as a reference waveform when completing a diagnostic tasks or when training or learning. When used with the Favorites, the two features make it easy to share, store, and recall key waveforms amongst groups of users, providing all members of the PicoScope community with a free and highly effective collaboration tool.

How to use it #

Waveform Library waveforms have unique IDs displayed beneath their snapshots and contributor names in the their details view.

To copy a waveform ID, click the Copy icon next to it. This will load it into your operating system’s clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere.

If you receive a waveform ID, use the Waveform Library Search feature to quickly find the waveform:

  • Click on the Search icon in the Waveform Library application.
  • Copy the ID and paste it into the Waveform ID field at the top of the Search panel and click Search.
  • Only one waveform will be returned, the waveform you require.

Alternatively, all Waveform Library waveforms have a shareable link, accessible from the link icon on the right hand side of the waveform’s details.

To copy a waveform link, click the link icon. This will load it into your operating systems clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere.

If you receive a waveform link, just click on it and the PicoScope software and Waveform Library will automatically open at the correct waveform.
