Waveform Manager

What is the Waveform Manager? #

The Waveform Manager helps you quickly import and edit your local waveforms before uploading them to our free Waveform Library cloud storage. Once there, your waveforms are backed-up and readily available for you to access from other locations or PCs.

In order to access the Waveform Manager feature you will need an Automotive PicoScope connected to a PC, access to the internet, and a username and password for the Pico Automotive Support Forum. To register for the forum, click on the following link: https://www.picoauto.com/support/ucp.php?mode=register

How do I use it? #

Click on the Waveform Library button located in the header bar above the graph view.

Selecting Waveform Library will open the login dialog box and allow you to Login or Register if you are a first-time user.

Once logged into the Waveform Library, click the Waveform Manager symbol.

Within the Waveform Manager, you can import an individual Psdata file or all the Psdata files found within a folder (and its subfolders) so you can quickly view the data within them and make sure they are properly prepared for uploading.

With the Waveform Manager dialog box open, there are three options, Drag and drop files or folders, Import files or Import folder.

In this example; we have chosen to Import a folder from the Desktop called “BMW X5 NON START> DAY 3″.

The chosen folder “BMW X5 NON START > DAY 3” contains not only Psdata files, but also other file formats. The Waveform Manager will now search through all files included within the folder “BMW X5 NON START > DAY 3” and import only Psdata files.

The Waveform Manager has imported all Psdata files from the folder “BMW X5 NON START > DAY 3”.

Editing is required before the files can be uploaded to the Waveform Library.

All fields highlighted in red are required before uploading waveforms to the Waveform Library.

With the relevant details added, click on Save. The file is now ready for uploading.

Any file imported by the Waveform Manager that already contains the relevant vehicle & capture details will be indicated as “Ready for upload”.

The files can now be uploaded to the Waveform Library by clicking on the Upload all button.

To view the progress of uploaded waveforms, click on the Upload icon to reveal the Uploads page.

In the example shown, the Upload page revealed our Psdata file “TEST 4 EGR AT ENG START AND ENG OFF” has failed to upload. Files that exceed the maximum upload size limit are indicated to the user as shown in the image.

Successfully uploaded files can now be viewed in My Waveforms where they will be uploaded to the Waveform Library once verified.

Clicking on the 3-horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner of the display will expand the Waveform Manager symbols, revealing their full descriptions.

The above BMW X5 waveform can now be found in the Waveform Library by any Automotive PicoScope user once verified by Pico.

As you can see, the bulk upload feature of the Waveform Manager will provide a means to remotely store waveforms with all the enhanced search and view facilities of the Waveform Library along with the Edit, Load and Download features.
