SENT Fast (Extended Testing)
Guided test
We’re pleased to announce the release of a second Guided Test for the SENT (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) protocol in PicoScope 7 Automotive. Titled SENT Fast (Extended testing), this new test is designed to help users decode and recover live sensor data from SENT Fast Channel signals — going beyond the basic network health check provided in the SENT Slow (Standard testing) test we featured last month.

The PicoScope 7 User’s Guide is here!
Our Test & Measurement colleagues have created a PicoScope 7 User’s Guide in response to customer requests. That User’s Guide can be found on the website here.
For our Automotive customers, the Guided Tests are the best starting point for new users, where the scope is fully configured for your test. A reference waveform and full explanations are included.
For access to PicoScope 7 controls and applications, we will continue to update the Knowledge Base, which is found here.
Please do give us feedback on additional Guided Tests, help and other content, as this would help us make your PicoScope diagnostics even faster and simpler.

Three-phase brushless motors are everywhere
From EV traction systems and fuel pumps to EGR valves and Valvetronic setups, we’re going to explore how to test a three-phase fuel pump motor. In this video, you’ll learn how to identify them, understand how they work, and perform quick, accurate resistance checks using tools like a multimeter, milliohm meter, and the dedicated PicoScope MT03A Milliohm and Motor Tester Kit.

Florida Auto Care Alliance (FLACA)
A great two day event in Orlando, Florida, with training classes, a trade show, and a networking reception. This event, hosted by FLACA, brought some of the best automotive technical and business trainers together with a great group of automotive professionals. Originally scheduled for October 2024, the event was rescheduled to May 2025 due to last year’s severe hurricane season.
Pico Technology sponsored the event and provided training.
Justin Morgan presented “PicoScope7 Tips & Tricks”. This class offered a look at many of the powerful yet underutilized features of PS7. Attendees were introduced to Sample rate settings, Actions, Math channels, proper use of low-pass filtering, edge count measurements, and customizing the side panel buttons with their favorite shortcuts.

Pico distributor, HongKe held two training events at the end of April, and the results of both days exceeded expectations! A summary of these two events is listed below:
Guangzhou, China Open Day – April 18
Eric hosted the event and guided customers through waveform diagnostics. Building on last year’s Shanghai Open Day experience, we extended the duration to a full afternoon and added more hands-on activities, including:
- Basic software operation
- Oscilloscope connection methods
- Ignition signal measurement
- Diagnosing cylinder conditions with the WPS500
- NVH diagnostics and so on
Taiwan Offline Training – April 27
This was co-hosted by several instructors, distributors, and our team. We invited Teacher Ge Huafei to teach remotely, with 45 trainees participating. The training focused on using Pico automotive oscilloscopes for engine diagnostics.
