2 Pin AMP Connector Breakout Lead — Non-Intrusive Testing
Description
The TA012 2 Pin AMP Connector Breakout Lead from Pico Technology enables automotive technicians to test Delphi injectors and 2-pin sensors without cutting wires.
Simply connect the breakout lead into the existing cable loom, and then take the output signal from the two 4 mm banana plugs into the automotive oscilloscope using one of the TA125 to TA128 premium test leads. The breakout cable gives access to the individual wires to allow probing with current clamps. For example, this allows both injector current and injector voltage to be captured.
Note: the test lead is required to convert the 4 mm banana plug connection on the TA012 to a BNC connector suitable for plugging into the PicoScope.
Product Specification
Features
Nondestructive Diagnostics
Completely eliminates the need for insulation-piercing probes or intrusive back-probing. Protects the structural integrity of the customer’s wiring harness.
Simultaneous Voltage & Current Testing
Built with long, flexible, color-coded individual loops. This gives you plenty of physical clearance to clip a low-amp current clamp around one wire while reading voltage spikes from the 4 mm jacks.
OEM-Grade Connectors
Features exact-fit 2-pin AMP style housings common to hundreds of thousands of European, Asian, and Domestic engine bays.
Universal Scope Integration
While optimized for PicoScope systems using TA125 to TA128 premium test leads, the universal 4 mm shrouded banana jacks allow it to adapt to virtually any standard lab scope on the market.
Typical uses
Fuel Injector Analysis
Quickly hook up to standard EV1/AMP style fuel injectors. Capture the voltage drop, inductive kickback, and the current ramp profile at the same time to pinpoint sticking mechanical pintles or a failing PCM driver circuit.
Variable Resistance Sensors
Effortlessly test 2-pin Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensors, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensors, and knock sensors dynamically as the engine warms up.
Solenoid & Actuator Mapping
Easily diagnose pulse-width modulated (PWM) circuits such as EVAP purge valves, variable valve timing (VVT) solenoids, and EGR control valves.
