Here is your latest Automotive Diagnostics update.
1. New Case Study
This month we have a very interesting case study for you, written by a real PicoScope user who has kindly offered to share his diagnostic knowledge.
VW Golf GTi 1.8 Turbo driveability issues. This Golf was presented with the fault described as a misfire at 2000 rpm. The car had recently been purchased from a local dealership as a trade-in, so the new owner had limited experience of its previous history and performance. A quick road test revealed that the performance was below expectations, and a mild kangarooing was felt under load, but there were no trouble codes. Follow the story as the problem was solved using a Pico oscilloscope.

2. IMI Training News
Automotive team representatives Dave Hewson and Vikki Bateman recently supported the new IMI Member Association in West Wales at Coleg Sir Gâr with a presentation at an IMI seminar held there. The presentation included information on the use of oscilloscopes within the field of diagnostics in the motor industry. There is great demand for additional training in this area and this was reflected by the well-attended meeting, with some IMI members travelling over 60 miles to be there. We also attended and presented to the local IMI members at Bridgwater College in Somerset earlier in the year. This was also very well-received and we look forward to working more closely with the IMI and its members in the future.
